Laboratory for Comparative and cognitive neuroscience: Our research is divided in two main lines: 1. Comparative neuroanatomy, in which we study the comparative structure and development of the human and non-human cerebral cortex, with emphasis on the neuronal organization for language and interhemispheric communication; 2. Cognitive neuroscience, in which we are studying brain mechanisms for attention and related asymmetries in the frontal cortex. In this line, we work with brain-damaged patients, shizophrenics, children with attentional deficit disorder and children with Williams syndrome.
